Rita Chantre is a Portuguese freelance photographer based in Lisbon.

She studied photography at António Arroio Artistic School and IPF - Instituto Português de Fotografia.

She soon started her career with an intership at Visão and Público.  

Since then she worked as a freelance photojournalist and published her work 

in several national and international newspapers such as:  

Público, Diário de Noticias, Jornal de Noticias, Revista de Vinhos, Visão,

 TimeOut, Libération and Courrier Internacional.

At the same time she also worked for a Theater company Plataforma 285 as a scene photographer and also as a freelance wedding photographer. 

Rita’s passion for travel led her to make her own travels, always looking for new cultures and stories to photograph. She traveled around Asia, Africa, Central and South America and during one of those travels, in Costa Rica, she decided to move there and create her own company.  

In 2015 she founded her own company in Costa Rica, Versat - Photo&Cook,  

where she worked as a photographer, manager and food stylist. 

In 2018 she returned to Lisbon and has worked as freelance photographer until today.

In 2024 she created a new project dedicated to gastronomy and lifestyle photography. -  Feed Photo & Video 

Currently she’s collaborating as a photojournalist with:

Diário de Noticias, Revista de Vinhos, Jornal de Noticias, Notícias Magazine, 

Evasões Magazine, Dinheiro Vivo , TSF Radio, Semanário Novo and Observador.
